How To Find The Perfect Title For Your Blog Post

Titles can make a huge difference in your views and following. If you have a catchy and interesting title your views and consequently your following can really increase. Here are some tips to improve your title:

Find out what’s popular– it’s always a good idea to do a little research and find out what types of articles get the most clicks. From what I’ve noticed lists, How-To’s and Do’s and Don’ts are quite popular and tend to more views.

Don’t lie- when it comes to titles it’s pretty easy to get carried away and write a fake clickbait title. Even though this might get you views at first it won’t really help if you’re thinking of increasing your following in the long run. People will fall for the title once or twice but will soon realise it’s just clickbait and stop clicking on your articles.

Keep it short- no one really wants to read half the article in the title. Long titles tend to bore readers and this will take a toll on your views. Make sure you keep your titles short and accurate for better views.

Keep it interesting- even though clickbaits are a bad idea and unethical make sure your title is honest but interesting enough that your readers will want to read further. Maybe puns, a sarcastic comment or a couple of exclamation marks!

How To Make Money Blogging

Not all bloggers get into blogging to make money but many do and want to turn blogging into their profession. Although it also depends on your traffic, following and other factors here are some ways to make money blogging:

Affiliate Links- You can join your favourite companies affiliate programs and when writing about them add affiliate links to your post. This way you can earn a commission without any extra charges to your followers if they choose to buy the product/s from the company.

Sponsored Posts- A lot of bloggers find writing sponsored posts to be a great way of making some income through your blog. Usually sponsors reach out or you can email people you think will be interested in sponsoring you.

Ads- A lot of bloggers make money off ads. WordPress offers income through ads in some of their plans. A lot of bloggers also use AdSense as well as third party plugins. However, these may slow down your blog especially if you have too many ads and pop-ups.

Links- Some bloggers are paid to add links to other bloggers website so that their audience is referred to their blog. It’s a really great way to advertise your blog when starting out and it’s also an easy and great way to make some income.

The Blue Door (Experience And Review)

So recently we had the amazing experience of going to the Blue Door and it was absolutely amazing!

res_1565695727918

In case you were wondering why it’s called the Blue Door it’s because they have this adorable blue door!

res_1565811549734

They had this amazing retro vibe and had vinyl record everywhere which we totally adored. And the staff were so sweet they took us all around to see everything.

They also have a night club area where there’s a DJ booth and the most amazing and beautiful retro graffiti ever. It also had vinyl records stuck to it and all these amazing peoples names. I don’t know if you can tell through the picture but it was extremely detailed and so well done. We totally fell in love with it and I’m pretty sure this is my favourite picture of all time!

They also had this nice and cosy little VIP area that had such a cool look with the chains and lighting- it even had a TV in the corner in case you want to watch sports or something. We had some drinks but I forgot to take pictures unfortunately 😣

res_1565696259099Overall we had an incredible time- the service was great, the drinks were good and the vibe was insane- we love retro stuff so it was perfect for us! I would totally recommend checking it out!

4 Things To Never Comment On A Blog Post

The comments section is a really awesome and fun place however there are some unwritten rules that you might want to follow to get the best experience out of it:

1. Don’t Spam Others- The more you blog and the more your blog grows the more spammers you’ll get. Firstly there are the obvious spammers that have no purpose but to spam you. Then there are people who are trying to network in your comments section. They usually leave a vague comment like “great post check out my blog” or “Enjoyed this post check out my latest blog”. Then there are those who just straight up leave a link to their blog, they don’t even bother leaving a comment or pretending like they enjoyed your post. Don’t be any of these guys because I can guarantee you’ll lose more followers than actually gain through this. I usually go out of my way to avoid their blog and I know most bloggers hate these sort of comments and delete/block them.

2. Don’t Criticize Them- If you don’t have something nice to say than don’t say anything. If you have actual criticism that will help improve the blog or person behind the blog than feel free to comment but if you’re going to say something rude and obviously hurtful then keep it to yourself. Don’t like the post and just move on you don’t have to be mean for no reason to someone just trying to write.

3. Stop Trolling- Trolling is sad and pathetic and if you’re on someones blog just to be hurtful than you should really rethink your life.

4. Don’t Hit On People- I can’t believe I have to specify this but WordPress isn’t Tinder. People aren’t on here to meet someone they’re here to blog so don’t be a creep who hits on people in their comments section.

20190815_18420520190815_184243PS. I’ve also had some bloggers- this one included- be really creepy on social media let me know in the comments if you want to see screenshots because some of them are just hilarious…

How To Get More Comments On Your Blog

When it comes to blogging you’ll hear a lot about follows and traffic especially if you’re trying to start blogging professionally or become an influencer. However, the comments section is an underrated yet very important part of blogging especially if you’re trying to blog professionally because a lot of clients will check out your comments section and see what readers have to say about your blog and how active your blog is. If you’re thinking of becoming an influencer a lot of sponsors will look at your comments section to see whether your following consists of real, organic followers. I recently wrote a post about the benefits of having an active comments section that you can check out here. Here are some ways to increase comments on your posts:

  1. Always reply- If you want to encourage people to comment more often on your posts make sure to reply. If you reply to the comments and even engage in conversation with them your readers will feel heard and appreciated which will keep them coming back to your blog.
  2. It’s a two way street- Like blogging, the comments section is a two way street. If you don’t take the time to read other peoples blog posts and leave comments they’re not going to either. If you want to increase your comments make sure you’re active and commenting on other people’s blog too.
  3. Tags- Using the right tags on your posts will help increase your follows and traffic which will automatically increase the amount of comments you receive.  By using the right tags I mean don’t over use tags- anything more than ten- because WordPress will assume you’re a spammer and hide your posts from the tags section and don’t use too few- anything less than five- because then you won’t reach your optimum number of views.
  4. Be polite/respectful- I think being polite and rational is always the way to go when it comes to commenting. Don’t freak out, don’t be rude for no reason and try to reply politely. This will show your reader that you take their opinion seriously and are ready to communicate which will encourage them to continue commenting.

Why The Comments Section Is Important

When it comes to blogging you’ll hear a lot about follows and traffic especially if you’re trying to start blogging professionally or become an influencer. However, the comments section is an underrated yet very important part of blogging especially if you’re trying to blog professionally because a lot of clients will check out your comments section and see what readers have to say about your blog and how active your blog is. If you’re thinking of becoming an influencer a lot of sponsors will look at your comments section to see whether your following consists of real, organic followers. Here are some more reasons your comments section should be one of your priorities:

It helps increase traffic- I’ve noticed a lot of times that if you take the time to reply to someones comments or have a conversation with them it encourages them to revisit your blog because they enjoyed the experiences. Encouraging conversation on your comments section is a great way to increase your traffic and grow your blog.

It helps increase your following- To a large number of bloggers increasing following is important and I get asked pretty often how to increase following. Engaging readers in the comments section and taking time to reply to comments is a great way to do this. If your reader feels heard and appreciated they are much more likely to follow your blog.

It helps give you feedback on your post- Even though you are happy with your post it is always good to get feedback about it from your readers and your comments section is perfect for this. If you’ve been blogging for a while you will notice what topics get more comments/interaction as well as which don’t. This will help you understand what readers enjoy on your blog and thus help you get more traffic.

It helps get you constructive criticism- Even though you are satisfied with your post/posts your readers may have positive criticism on how you could improve it and make it even better. This is the kind of criticism you should take in because it will help you improve your blog as well as your skills as a blogger which will consequently help you gain more traffic and following.
