How Many Of My 2019 Goals Did I Keep

I made a list of what goals I wanted to achieve in 2019 and here is a little recap of what I was able to achieve and the ones I’m still going to have to work harder on next year. For the original 2019 goals post click here. Be prepared- I think I didn’t do great with this one in general but I did try really hard to be prepared. I feel like sometimes you can’t be prepared no matter how hard you try so considering those situations I think I did good! Be more open- I definitely succeeded with this one! I have been way more open this year and I’ve…

    Living And Working In Milwaukee

Milwaukee might be famous for beer, but there’s actually a lot more to discover about this underrated gem. Influenced by German immigrants, as well as Irish, Polish and Italian folks, modern-day Milwaukee has retained a strong streak of European charm. There’s also a coastal vibe you might not expect here in the Midwest, with beaches, sailing and endless activities to enjoy on the water. Often overlooked as Chicago’s “little brother,” Milwaukee actually packs a ton of culture. The city boasts Summerfest–the “World’s Largest Music Festival”–tons of green space and one of the most important industries in the world. Milwaukee’s diverse ethnic heritage is celebrated with major ethnic festivals each summer,…

Favourite Courses I’ve Taken So Far

American history- I have taken four American history courses so far and I’ve really enjoyed all of them. I think my favourites so far have been the History of American Popular Culture and American History 1865- present. I don’t think American History is particularly more interesting because I genuinely think all history is really interesting no matter what country it’s about but what really makes me interested in American History is that I’ve never done it before. I had never learnt any American history before so I find it new and exciting compared to some other courses which I kind of already know a bit about. Country Music– So this…

Stop Using Mental Illnesses As An Excuse

So the other day I heard some girls in my seminar talking. One was complaining about how she never comes to lecture because she’s too lazy to and how she wants the notes though and she was trying to figure out how to get them because our professor doesn’t upload them. They went through multiple ways to get them when one suggested you can just say you have anxiety and then the school will get you notes from another student in the class. The other one enthusiastically agreed that faking anxiety was the best way to get away with stuff. Here’s the problem I have with this apart from the…
